How to find the perfect bag

Posted on August 15, 2020, in: Uncategorized

Before I started making bags, I had bags, many bags, and do you know where most of them lived? In their dust bags in my wardrobe. Now I have two bags (ok maybe four) that I use, and I love each and every one of them, because I use them.

My Everyday bag, with the kids, shopping and meetings is the large Connie tote (click here) because its big, stylish, great for the train as it fits my laptop for working, and can also take a pair of extra shoes if needed.

My just going out for lunch bag is the long Connie clutch, the interior layout means I don’t need a purse as well, I just pop my cards and cash into the allotted slots and pockets, my keys and phone and off to go, it tucks under my arm, or has a wrist strap, its light, and fits in all our bigger bags. It also fits a couple of nappies and a travel pack of wipes, if you’re lunching with your baby.

So, things to consider,

  1. How often will I use it?
  2. What do I want to use it for?
  3. What do I need to carry in it?

These three things will help you narrow down your choices, practicality for me, overrides most other factors, but, do you love it? Does its packaging get your heart racing let alone the contents? Does looking at it make you happy?

Lastly, will you actually have a use for it, is it useful every day? As William Morris once said, “Beautiful or useful”. With Hayley Hanson, it’s both
